Jennifer Weiss Named VP, Group Publisher at 1105 Government Information Group
(August, 2009) NewCoordinates is pleased to announce the placement of Jennifer Weiss as VP and Group Publisher, 1105 Government Information Group, a division of 1105 Media based in Falls Church, VA. She assumes the overall sales and marketing leadership role for the company’s leading portfolio of government information publications and websites, including Federal Computer Week, Government Computer News (GCN), Defense Systems, Washington Technology, Security Products, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) and Environmental Protection. Jennifer reports to 1105 GIG’s President, Anne Armstrong, who initially broke this news on her industry blog.
Jennifer brings a successful track record and unique qualifications to 1105 Media. She comes from SourceMedia (formerly Thomson Media), where she was VP, Group Publisher of the Investment Advisor Group and previously VP, Custom Media, and Publisher of Insurance Networking News. Earlier, she gained substantial knowledge of the government technology advertising market from six years’ experience at Post Newsweek Tech Media, where she held sales management roles at Government Computer News before its acquisition by 1105. She also brings perspectives from digital media sales roles with Engage, a CMGI company, and from sales experience in consumer magazine publishing.
Jennifer graduated from the University of Virginia, and earned a Master’s degree in Business from Johns Hopkins. She resides in the Washington, DC area.
